Hillary's Just Warmin' Up

So she says...

Despite the potential defeat in tomorrow's primary, Hillary Clinton told reporters she's pressin' on!

"I'm just getting warmed up!"

"I think I know what's happening and I believe I'm going to do very well tomorrow," she said. "I think that's going to be a very significant message to the country, and then we move on to Pennsylvania and the states coming up."

Former President Clinton, has asserted that his wife must win both Texas and Ohio to keep her campaign alive. On Friday, Hillary Clinton's advisers recast the stakes, saying if Obama lost any of the four presidential primaries Tuesday—Rhode Island and Vermont also vote—it would show Democrats are having second thoughts about him.

"Obviously it's within the margin of error in both the popular vote and the delegate count. Ohio is the key to winning the presidency and I'm excited about tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it."

Yes, Ohio is key; I think more than ten presidents have come from the "Heart of it All." However, the holder of the key is yet to be determined.

"Hard-fought primary contests are a part of American politics," said Clinton. "We're going to have a hard-fought contest, we're going to have a unified Democratic Party, we're going to get behind whoever our nominee is and we're going to win in November."

"I intend to do as well as I can on Tuesday and we'll see what happens after that...."

I'm not sure about a "unified democratic party," but one thing's for sure: there's a unified constituency in Texas that is on the move for another Clinton presidency - the Tejano. From the poorest Hispanic American to the most wealthy, Hispanics, mostly Mexican here in Texas, are filling early-voting locations to cast a ballot for Hillary.

Will Hispanic voters make the difference in the Texas democratic contest? If they're anything like the ones I ran into at the early-voting polls, then it would seem Hillary will have the same effect she had in California, where she garnered 70% of the Hispanic vote.

Why do Hispanics readily align themselves with Hillary? As I was told after asking, "She's going to give us FREE health care. Why wouldn't you want to vote for her." Yes, those were the exact words I heard from a fellow Hispanic last Friday night. I aptly told this poor woman, "M'am, nothing is free."

If you haven't voted yet, make sure to go. I waited an hour and a half to cast my vote and am scheduled to caucus Tuesday night. One thing I learned while waiting in line is that Hillary and Obama have been quite militant in sending forth their constituency to vote in the primaries. We can only respond to this rallying by executing our right as voters. Get involved! Do what you can! As Hillary constantly states, "This war-time election is too important!"
